The Film
Because I Can is a feature documentary about friendship, resilience and the power of moving forward when life changes without permission.
When Allié McGuire is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, her lifelong best friend Angie responds with a promise: to run a marathon in her honor and raise awareness for MS. What begins as one act of love becomes something much larger, a deeply personal journey through diagnosis, uncertainty, advocacy and the unbreakable bond between two women who have walked through life together since childhood.
Through intimate storytelling, emotional conversations and the road to the Philadelphia Marathon, Because I Can explores what it means to live with MS, love someone with MS and keep going when the path ahead is unknown. It is a film about showing up, speaking out and turning awareness into action, one step at a time.
