The Film

LAST CHRISTIAN IN BETHLEHEM is a new 64-minute documentary that gives voice to the often over-looked community of Palestinian Christians, who have existed in the Holy Land since the days of Jesus.

Today, in the West Bank, isolated and besieged by settlers and the Israeli military, Palestine’s 50,000 remaining Christians fear they will be driven from their homeland. After the horror and destruction in Gaza, they ask, Are we next?

Filmed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in late 2025, LAST CHRISTIAN IN BETHLEHEM includes interviews with a range of Palestinian Christians, as well as a Muslim bookshop manager and an Israeli rabbi and human rights activist.

For those who view the Israel-Palestine conflict as a battle between Judeo-Christianity and Islam, the film offers many surprises, showing in Palestine an ecumenical olive harvest, a variety of church services, a Christian family struggling to defend their land against Israeli settler attacks, a music festival, a Christmas celebration in Nativity Square, even a micro-brewery in an ancient Christian town.

Palestinian Christians in the film stress their commitment to non-violence and creative resistance to the occupation, while making an urgent appeal for international understanding and support before it is too late.
