The Film
In THIS TIME, a sixteen-year-old girl is determined to fulfill her deceased father's final wish by delivering his ashes to one of his closest friends…Liza Minnelli, even if it means blackmailing an alcoholic hearse driver to race her across the country. Little does she know that her unwilling chauffeur has been secretly hired by her stepfather to take her to an anti-LGBTQ conversion camp.
THIS TIME, an entertaining coming of age road movie in the tradition of GREEN BOOK and LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, is about the power of connection and the importance of being seen as you are. A young woman on a journey of self-discovery and a cynical over-the-hill curmudgeon are reluctantly united in their quest to unlock secrets from the past.
There are comic adventures and betrayals as Red Burns, played by Charles Martin Smith, is torn between his love of the bottle and his young charge’s quixotic quest. Charles Martin Smith is an acclaimed character actor, known for his appearances in such classics as AMERICAN GRAFFITI (unforgettable as Terry, 1973).
The film also features Grammy® Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist and film/TV actress Deborah Cox, who made her Broadway debut in the lead role in Elton John and Tim Rice's musical, Aida.
