Join us on October 15, 2025 at the Independent Picture House in Charlotte for an unforgettable evening celebrating courage, strength, and community. Presented by Comcast, the Blind AF Community Film Series proudly features the extraordinary story of Shawn Cheshire—a blind U.S. Army veteran, Paralympian, and trailblazer who refuses to be defined by her disability.
Blind AF follows Shawn’s groundbreaking journey as she becomes the first blind person to ride a single, non-tandem bike across America—3,600 miles in 60 days—while confronting powerful truths from her past. Her story is one of resilience, healing, and the transformative power of self-belief.
Following the screening, stay for an engaging panel discussion featuring Shawn Cheshire alongside decorated veterans and elite athletes:
Shawn Cheshire – Blind U.S. Army Veteran, Paralympian, Advocate
Tim Hornick – Two-Time Purple Heart Recipient, Veteran Advocate
Chester Triplett – Paralympic Cyclist
Eric Strong – Elite Athlete
This event highlights veteran and female empowerment, while honoring the spirit of White Cane Awareness Day—reminding us all to look beyond limitations and embrace the possibilities of inclusion.
