這部紀錄片由美國導演 Vanessa Hope 執導，透過前所未有的親密拍攝視角，記錄台灣第一位女性總統蔡英文的當選與執政歷程。她如何在中美地緣政治的夾縫中，努力維護台灣的主權、民主與國際地位？影片以冷靜觀察的方式，捕捉了蔡英文在國內領導民主政務的真實場景，也呈現出台灣追求「國際存在」與自由的艱辛過程。
