I was raised in Brooklyn NY by a single mom who showed me why fighting for gender and racial equity was critical. My psychology degree from Brown University and my Ph.D. from the University of Utah have allowed me to bring the camera into people's lives in an intimate way that helps an audience focus on big topics and issues (healthcare, racism, gender equality, addiction) in a way that helps us to all understand those challenges in a deep dive way. I feel lucky to be teaching documentary film production and helping the next generation of story tellers share their cinematic stories to create a better world.
