Maleeha Aziz is the Deputy Director at the Texas Equal Access Fund (TEA Fund), an abortion fund that serves Texas.
I am the Deputy Director at Texas Equal Access Fund (TEA Fund). In my role, I shape the next phase of the TEA Fund, expand and advance programming, and focus on organizational and leadership development. I co-founded TEA Fund’s Post-Abortion Truth and Healing group (PATH), which provides folx who have had abortions with social and emotional support. I also spearheaded TEA Fund’s My Choice: Not A Crisis campaign that raises awareness about the dangers of anti-abortion centers and offers a safe alternative for parents in need of resources.
During my time with TEA Fund, I represented the organization before Congress when she testified against abortion bans by sharing her story and highlighting the work abortion funds did to support their communities. I am a passionate reproductive justice advocate and share my abortion stories to build community and help shift the current narrative.
I am a parent to my sweet four-year-old daughter, Maya, and I credit my abortions for allowing her to choose motherhood on her terms and when I felt physically, financially, and emotionally ready. My love for her daughter Maya and her abortion experiences are the driving forces behind my fierce reproductive justice advocacy and storytelling work.
