Prerana Thakurdesai is the producer of the award-winning documentaries, impact distribution strategist and cultural consultant.

Prerana Thakurdesai is a New York based director & producer creating films between New York and India. Prerana's work centers on women's lives, stories about grief and end-of-life experiences. She is a lead producer of the feature doc on conscious dying, “The Last Ecstatic Days” and the documentary short, “Yatra.” Her films bear robust impact campaigns and innovative distribution strategies. Her last directorial film, “The Essential Worker,” is a short documentary part of the Asian-American Resilience Stories initiative by A-Doc, and aired on PBS World Channel. While in India, Prerana produced the internationally acclaimed docu-TV series, Satyamev Jayate, watched by 600 million people worldwide. Her other credits include 9/11: The Legacy (producer) for the History Channel, the Indian television series, Toofan Aalaya (co-writer & producer) hosted by one of India's biggest film personalities, Aamir Khan. Prerana was awarded the DOCNYC Documentary New Leader honor, and the Producers Guild of America (PGA) Fellowship. Prerana is the founding member of the Bitchitra Collective : Indian Women/Non-binary Artists in Documentary, and has also served as the president of the South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA.)
