Ryan Sultemeier is a Producer and Filmmaker from Johnson City, Texas. He holds a BFA in Theatre Performance & Production from Texas State University and has been working in the film industry since 2017. When he isn’t working on docs or features as a producer he’s freelancing in the camera department as an AC or DP, or working on his boutique production company— Atomized Media.
His first feature documentary, The Stars at Night, premiered at the Austin Film Festival in October 2023, since then it’s played around the world at festivals and events for people seeking to protect and discover the night sky. In November 2024 he premiered his second feature documentary, The Roping Fools, at the Will Rogers Film Festival where it won best feature doc and best film. It has since continued to play at festivals around the US and has garnered several more awards. He’s worked freelance in the production department on several other features including Moonrise, as a production supervisor.
In the camera department, Ryan has freelanced on productions with dozens of local and international brands to help bring their vision into sharp focus. He’s worked on spots and campaigns for brands like Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Coca-Cola, Days Inn, Nike, H-E-B, Outside Magazine, The San Antonio Spurs, Church’s Chicken, The United States Air Force, WWE, Whataburger, and Six Flags. His Narrative and Documentary camera department credits include the upcoming Wishbone Documentary, Say a Little Prayer, Shoreline Mafia’s “Back N Bidness,” A+E’s “The Proof is Out There,” and more.
When he’s not on set he can be found somewhere in the back country where he enjoys camping, hiking, and shooting astrophotography and wildlife video and photos.
