Steven Lawrence has been making award-winning documentaries about artists, activists, and everyday heroes for over 30 years - most recently scientists racing to save the human microbiome.

I’m a documentary producer-director-writer and media strategist with a deep interest in human and animal rights, health, and the arts, especially music. Much of my work has been about bridging cultures and providing platforms for voices often ignored by mainstream media. I’ve had the privilege of producing 3 films for Michael Apted, launching the 7UP series in the former USSR, producing-directing the first interactive doc series for PBS, filming the emergence of Talking Heads at CBGB, and pioneering the broadcasting of world music in the US I have many stories to tell and look forward to sharing them.
