Danny & Ron’s Rescue speaks for helpless animals that have no voice. We began our rescue mission in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina by aiding dogs that were left homeless by the storm. Now we are rescuing puppy mill dogs, bait dogs used in dog-fighting, and hundreds of dogs from shelters—often moments away from euthanasia. We currently deliver pet food and supplies, and have rescued dogs from junkyards and shelters.

National Pet Day is April 11, although if you’re a pet owner, you know there’s not a day that goes by that you don’t celebrate your animal companion! That critter makes you happy — and that’s not all. The NIH has been a partner in research to determine the physical and mental benefits of having a pet. Pets contribute to overall cardiovascular health by lowering cortisol, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels.
